Route Three: 16 key locations in the Priory Graveyard

We take in 16 key locations in the Priory Graveyard, right in the centre of Great Malvern with over 20 tree types presented and discussed.

The Great Malvern Priory, founded shortly after the Norma Conquest, hosts some of the towns most spectacular trees including marvellous cedars, a most spectacular Holm Oak and a stunning Monterrey Pine. We also have the gas lamp that surely inspired C.S.Lewis to include it as the entrance to Narnia and on a less cheery note, the grave of Anne Darwin, daughter of Charles Darwin. A very special feature related to our trees, is a 15th century ‘Green Man’ hidden in the Priory itself.
